Director S P Muthuraman was instrumental in shaping the career of Rajnikanth. The ace -director of Tamil cinema in 1980s, Muthuraman directed several films featuring Rajnikanth in the role of an angry youngster.
Director S P Muthuraman who introduced Rajinikanth as a hero says that from the beginning the punch lines were designed to project a reel life image, matching with the superstar’s real life image.
Says Muthuraman, “In Murattu Kalai there was song designed for Rajinikanth because we knew it would be received well by his fans.â€Â
And in the subsequent journey to super stardom, Rajinikanth has carried his style and his punchlines guaranteeing an electric presence every time he blazes the silver screen.
All his movies were successful in making a huge collection at the box office and won Rajnikanth huge fan following.
Rajnikanth’s latest release Sivaji, which is running to packed houses, is produced by AVM. S P Muthuraman, who has been of part of several hit films in the production house, was accommodated as co-producer.
As a token of gratitude Rajnikanth called on S P Muthuraman at his residence on Sunday and thanked him. In a brief chat with the director, Rajnikanth shared his memories working in his films and about the huge hit of Sivaji.
