Malaysian Urban Development Minister Datto Sivalingam died of heart attack at Chennai on April 4.
Sivalingam (62), accompanied by his daughter Vasantha, arrived here this morning from Kuala Lumpur on a personal visit. He complained of chest pain on arrival.
He was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last.
Sivalingam had come to Chennai en route to Pudukottai, where his ancestral village is located.
Malaysian embassy officials are making arrangements to take Sivalingam’s body back to Kuala Lumpur.
