Crafts Bazaar, an exhibition-cum-sales of a collection of handicrafts and handlooms from various States of the country, is underway at Anna Nagar, Chennai. The show began from Friday.

The exposition was inaugurated by cine actress Kirthi Chawla. The bazaar has artistic items made of Sheesam wood, wood carvings of Gods and Goddesses,a range of wooden kitchenware, leather products like purses and belts, Punjabi garments and wall hangings. It also has on display terracotta statues and other idols made of clay from Kolkata, a heritage collection of toran items from Gujarat, multi-mukhi Rudrakshas, spathicks and precious stones from Nepal.

For interior decoration lovers, there are carved wooden partitions, corner stands, tables, small items made of Sheesam wood, rosewood panels from Mysore and furniture like sofa and dining tables.

In the jewellery section, the bazaar has Rajasthani jewellery, semi- precious stones, Rajasthani terracotta items and wide range of bangles, which would certainly attract the customers.

Craft Bazaar organiser Ashok Sharma said, ‘After repeated requests from visiting customers, this time we have introduced special cotton dress for summer and for children, we have Chinapatnam toys, which are very inexpensive.’

At this exhibition, customers will get a special discount of 20 per cent on handloom items, and 10 per cent discount on handicrafts. The exhibition will be on till 21 April from 10 am to 9 pm at D K Kalyana Mandapam, located at W-114, Third Avenue, Anna Nagar.
