Its always a daunting task to make a movie out of a successful novel, but Magizhchi does perfect justice to Neela Padmanabhan’s novel Thalaimuraikal.
Director Gowthaman has given us a movie which explores the different facets of family relationships(especially the brother-sister relationship) and comes out with engrossing sequence of events.
Thiravi(Gowthaman) who is a government school teacher lives a happy life with his father, mother, grandmother and sister(Karthika). His sisters happiness means a world to Thiravi. He is also in love with Kuzhali.
Life is perfect for Thiravi until his sister gets married to Sevatha Perumal(Sampath Raj). There is domestic discord between the couple and Sevatha Perumal sends his wife back to her parents stating that she is unable to give him a child.
All of Thiravi’s effort to unite his sister with her husband is in vain and this leads to a lot of heartache for the family. What happens next forms the climax of the movie.
Excellent direction by Gauthaman. Vidyasagars melodious music fits the movie. All the actors are the best fit to their roles which makes the movie a good entertainer.
