Sivaji – The Boss Bus At Chennai
Chennai Transport Corporation Bus – Bus is having a Sivaji film advertisement with Rajinikanth
The double-deckers are now decked up with advertisements.
Inspired by Mumbai’s BEST bus services, which had wrapped up its double-deckers similarly with advertisements, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) recently awarded tenders to a private advertising agency to solicit advertisements on its 10 double-deckers.
Officials said AVM Productions was among the first advertisers. Banners of the new Rajnikant-starrer `Sivaji’ are displayed on four of the 10 buses.
A representative of Naveen Advertisements, the company that won an MTC tender for the advertisements on the buses, said companies had to spend up to Rs.9,000 for printing the vinyl posters and wrapping them around the buses. The agency is paying MTC around Rs. 11,000 per month.
MTC managing director R. Balasubramanian said the Corporation was currently making up to Rs.3 crore annually through advertisement revenue. “There is enough potential to increase it to Rs.6 crore. Our new buses have been designed to exploit the potential. We have created new panels on the windows and on the back of seats.”
