Telugu television anchor Nirosha committed suicide by hanging herself at a hostel here on Wednesday, the police said. She was 23.
Nirosha, who had been working with Gemini Music TV, hanged herself with a shawl while on a video call. None of them expected that a happy-go-lucky person like Nirosha would kill herself. Her family said they were going to meet her boyfriend Ritvik in April to discuss their wedding. Police have registered a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Nirosha’s boyfriend Ritwik is based out of Canada, while her parents stay in Chittoor.
Nirosha’s engagement took place last month and she was supposed to enter the wedlock next month. This sudden act of hers, is a shock to everyone as Nirosha is known for her energetic nature and sweet attitude, among her friends and colleagues. The anchor belongs to Chittoor district, Malleshwaram village. She worked in a couple of news channels earlier, as a reporter, and was very passionate about anchoring. Her body was sent to Gandhi hospital for the postmortem and will be handed over to her parents later. Meanwhile, cops are further investigating the issue.
