CHENNAI: The next time you want to break into song look under your bed, check the closets and behind doors… the two suited and booted guys from SS Music may just be lurking in the shadows to carry you away.

But then fame and fortune may follow. The south Indian music channel has launched the `Reliance Mobile Launch Pad’, a contest for `bathroom singers’. They held a press conference recently with the host, Medha (a model from the city); film personality Gangai Amaren, who will judge the entries; and actor Sandhya, who was there for aesthetic value; as VJ Craig put it.

The programme will be aired as a reality show in the next three months. People will be chosen for the first round based on a demo to be submitted to the channel.

If your demo shows promise, you get the chance of undergoing a complete makeover, rigorous training, meeting several bigwigs from the music industry and winning up to Rs.3 lakh worth of jewellery.

The channel is currently airing a series of promos where impromptu singers are whisked away forcefully by the two men.

To register, call 1234200 using a Reliance mobile or landline. You can also head to the nearest Reliance Mobile Launch Pad Kiosk. In Chennai, it is located at Abirami Mega Mall and Spencer Plaza Music World.

Alternatively, you can send a recording of your voice on a CD or cassette to Southern Spice Music, 126/127 Triplicane High Road.
