The centenary celebrations of famous Tamil writer Pudumaipithan and the 117th birth anniversary of poet Bharathidasan would be celebrated in the city from tomorrow.

The five day celebration would be organised by Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Manram (academy for prose, music and drama), the academy’s chairman Rama Narayanan told reporters here today.

The festival would be inaugurated by State PWD Minister K Duraimurugan and eminent writer Jayakanthan would attend the function.

Union Environment Minister A Raja and State deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission M Naganathan would attend the second day of the function.
