Good news pours in for job-aspirants to Canada. Yes, the Canadian Immigration authorities besides relaxing the norms have expedited the Visa issuing process to skilled persons.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, World Wide Immigration and Consultancy Services chairman and managing director B S Sandhu said that the company has already received 1000 applications which are under process and added that Canada has opened its doors to Indian skilled workforce. Expressing happiness that as many as 1,000 skilled workers would get Visas during this fiscal, he said that the workers would be allowed to work for 40 hours in a week on a two year contract. Moreover, they stand a chance for getting an extension besides a possibility to get permanent residency status. Experts in the immigration service believe that India which has emerged as one of the largest workforce supplying country to Canada by superceding China.

The recent move of the Canadian authorities would largely benefit a major chunk of truck drivers, construction wor-kers, hospitality workers, carpenters, mechanical trade workers and general labourers. With more and more Indian workforce seeking permament residency in Canada, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has raised the target for new permanent residents by 15,000.
