Anything For You – Different Family Relationships
Director’s Statement:
The story idea came to my mind by looking at the different relationships that exists in the family. It’s interesting to see the different level of relationships we have between family and kids, between friends, between husband and wife. I wanted to involve all these relationships and weave an interesting story. As I started writing the screenplay the title “Anything For You” automatically came to my mind because we often use the term in real life. Also I was thinking do we really mean when we make promises and say things like “I love you” and “I’ll do Anything For You” ?
I brought in different kinds of characters and their relationship between them. The lead protagonist comes from a broken family looking for love. Her parents were divorced at an early age and she grows up with her Grandma and Aunt. Then you have a doctor and his wife caught up in their busy life who suddenly feels their relationship threatened. This in turn affects his relationship with his in-laws and brings chaos and confusion. There’s a mystery element and unknown relationship between the doctor and the lead protagonist which has an interesting twist.
Right from the beginning during audition actors who read for the different characters fell in love with the whole screenplay and were intrigued and amazed by its complexity, flow and the effectiveness to it had to keep the audience glued till the end.
As a writer/director I had the whole movie and the characters in mind I sat in the audition to get the right actor. I feel when you get the casting right 50% of the movie is done. We had a good pre-production done and a small effective crew to do the shooting part. With minor hiccups the shooting went as per schedule. The whole process from start to finish was an enjoyable journey which resulted in the completion of the project with a final print and when we saw we went like “WOW”.
To me “Anything For You” is a success journey which cannot be put into few words. It was a team effort and I thank everyone involved in making this dream to reality.
