Ajith, Nayantara starrer Billa has a grand movie launch on April 13, 2007 at the AVM studios. Yes. The very start of the ‘Billa’ project started off auspiciously with superstar Rajini lighting the lamp.

Actors Rajinikanth , Siva Kumar, Prabhu, producer council president Rama Narayanan, Film Chamber president KRG , actress Sripriya, producer L. Balaji, AVM Saravanan, R B Choudary , directors Mani Rathnam, Dharani, K.S. Ravi Kumar, Saran, Suresh Krishna and many other VIPs took part in this event.

The original film released 20 years back had Rajini in the lead role and Ajith is over the moon that he is to do the superstar’s role in this new version of that hit film.

Only the special invitees and members of the media were allowed in. The time of the function was 9.30am but the superstar presented himself 5 minutes earlier, proving that punctuality is one of the main reasons for his rise to the top as superstar. As soon as Rajini entered, Ajith and Shalini fell at his feet for his blessings.

Rajini looked trim and smart in his close haircut and white veshti and shirt. Clad in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, Ajith looked like a Hollywood hero, while his pretty wife Shalini was clad in a black sari. The couple looked a joy to behold. While Rajini spoke easily with Ajith, the cameras clicked away to glory.

Rajinikanth, Ajith, L Balaji, Rama Narayanan and Shalini Ajith Kumar lit the lamp. A huge number of fans of Rajinikanth and Ajith Kumar also participate in this function.

All the eyes at the gathering were on actor Rajinikanth who dressed up in dhothi and the couple Ajith – Shalini.Billa has direction by Vishnuvaradhan and is produced by L. Suresh, son of Balaji.

Nayantara and Namitha are playing the female lead. Prabhu plays the part played by Balaji in the original version of Billa where Rajinkanth was the hero.
