It proved to be a big hit. Ever since, we have paid equal importance to both big films and new gen films like Subramaniapuram, Vennila Kabadi kuzhu etc. Meanwhile star cast films like Yaradi Nee Mohini, Silambattam, Adhavan, Vettaikaran have also done very well. We have signed up for more than 65 films of which Sura starring Vijay is our 60th film. We have a great line up for this year and are looking forward to having more hits.”

Talking in detail on the future initiatives, Priya Krishnan – Head Marketing, Think Music said, “Our upcoming releases include the eagerly awaited SURA featuring Ilayathalapathy Vijay, produced by Sun Pictures with music by Mani Sharma. SURA is also the 50th film of Vijay and is expected to be a big success. Other movies include BALE PANDIYA produced by AGS Productions, directed by Siddharth featuring debutante music director Devan, who moves from playback singing to scoring music. MADRASAPATTINAM produced yet again by AGS Productions features actor Arya and music by G V Prakash, ‘Ayyanar’ by Thaman & Adhi duo. All these and every other film signed on by Think Music will receive extensive support and promotion, online and on-ground”

Elaborating further, Priya Krishnan stated that PAIYA marks a major milestone in Think Music’s foray into music. “Think Music plans presence in all spheres of music – web, radio, tv, mobile phones etc. PAIYA songs and downloads are available on 50 international online sites and we have created mobile applications, particularly for iPhones. We will be focusing on increasing our physical distribution to several hundred outlets in Tamil Nadu this quarter.”

Swaroop Reddy – Director, Think Music felt that music was the dominant and inalienable component of entertainment industry and hence a logical forward move for Sathyam Cinemas. “Entertainment is our business, music is a large component of the entertainment industry and hence a very natural extension for us. New age formats of digital music will be key drivers of revenue, as has been witnessed with telecom earning significant revenues from music downloads and ringtones. Several music retailers have installed download kiosks at their various outlets. This clearly confirms our foray into digital music as the ‘win-win’ strategy for our consumers and us” he observed.

THINK MUSIC is the music arm of Sathyam Cinemas and since their inception a little over two years ago, they have launched many new talents such as Thaman, James Vasanthan, Selva Ganesh, Paul Jacob in Tamil – this is a reflection of Think Music’s ability to assess and understand the consumers’ psyche. Think Music has released most of the musical hits since they launched which include Subramanipuram, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Silambattam, Yaradi Nee Mohini, Adhavan, Vettaikaran, Eeram etc. They have also released music digitally for movies like Billa, Villu, Ayan, Kuruvi etc. jointly with its associate labels like Anak, Ayngaran, AVM and Duet Music.
