JC Middle East FZC, a subsidiary of JC Fabrica de Valvulas s.a. of Spain, is setting up a production facility in India to make industrial valves. JC Fabrica is a well-known maker of quality industrial valves.

The unit will come on a five-ace land at Mahindra City, near here. Construction work on the project is expected to commence in June this year. The unit is expected to go on stream by the end of 2009.

The proposed factory will make valves ranging from half inch to 48 inches. These are critical valves and imported at the moment.

Faizal Kottikollon, President JC Valves, said the upcoming facility would provide jobs to 150 high skilled people. An Indian company by the name and style of JCF Valves & Controls India Private Ltd. has already been formed to implement the project.

Mr. Kottikollon said the initial investment in the project would be to the tune of Rs.100 crore. In the second phase, an additional Rs.250 crore would be invested to make vacuum-treated valves.

Terming India “as an important and interesting market,’’ he said his company would focus on catering to the needs of power, oil and gas industries in India. The move to set up a production base in India was in line with “our objective to provide customers high quality products in the most cost-effective way and making them available at the right time and place,’’ he added.
