Chennai High Court on Thursday ordered Anjali to be present in the court within two weeks in connection with Habeas Corpus petition filed by her aunt Bharati Devi. In her petition Bharati Devi demanded that Anjali should be handed over to her parents (Bharati Devi and Suri Babu) for which Anjali is supposed to appear before the High Court judge in Chennai.
Anjali, who disappeared four days ago after complaining about the harassment by her aunt Bharati Devi and director Mu Kalanjeyu to the Chennai media, reportedly called producer D Suresh Babu and informed that she would be attending the shooting of ‘Bol Bachchan’ Telugu remake which is currently progressing in Bangalore. Meanwhile the actress got orders from Chennai High Court to be present within two weeks.
It may be recalled that Anjali’s aunt Bharathi Devi had filed Habeas Corpus petition in Madras High Court stating that she was the aunt (Mother’s sister) of the actress and adopted her in 2003 after following all necessary legal procedures.
When the matter came up for conference today, the Court directed the police with this effect.
Anjali had called both her mother and brother to inform that she was safe. Without revealing her whereabouts, the actress had asked her brother to withdraw the missing complaint.
