To celebrate the spirit of Chennai and to pay a tribute to the city that is ours, Macrocosm has launched the Album “Namma Chennai—Sorkamae Endralum Adhu Nama Oora Pola Varuma???”
The team felt that they owed it to their hometown a debt of gratitude and had to express it in the best possible way. 5 Music Composers have worked on 6 songs of different genres. All the songs are based on Chennai (sights, sounds and memories), prominent places of Chennai, genre of people, culture etc.
The team hopes that through this Album we could invoke people’s mind and trigger Reverse Brain Drain. Over the decades a number of people have left our country to pursue their interests elsewhere. They wanted to change the pattern and hope this Album proves to be at the edge of the curve.
Quite a lot of people were involved in this project (Nearly 100) and their efforts have borne fruit. Kudos to each and every one of them who worked tirelessly for the end product.
This Album was produced by NS Vaitheeswaran and Executive produced by Badri Surendran(s/o Dr.T.S.Surendran-Vice Chairman of Sankara Nethralaya) , Muthu Venkat.The Creative Directors for the project are Sam Anton, Victor Jayaraj and Praveen.
The Post Production and Publicity Design studio for the Namma Chennai Music Album was done at The Pixel Studio headed by Vijay Anand – Graphic and Print Designer, Sai Ram and Kutti Kumar who worked on Editing, Video Post and Visual Effects.
MacrocosM is an entertainment company formed in 2006 by a conglomeration of young professionals with the aim of providing insightful entertainment.This group is multifaceted and has performed many street and stage plays (Awareness Campaign for Elections 2006), music shows, Mime and Body Theatre (MacTrics), corporate videos, and short films.
The various programs include a street play to canvass the importance of voting and to spread election awareness among people, a corporate video for Ma Foi management consultancy, and short films such as “Jannal Vizhiyinilae,” “Nth minute,”,”Savachalai” and “Karmayogi”. The music video, “Namma Chennai—Sorkamae Endralum Adhu Nama Oora Pola Varuma???,” is an effort to present our Chennai to the Global Audience and will be one of its kind.
