Modhi Vilayadu is an apt title for director Saran’s latest offering as the director has played the game well in Modhi Vilayadu after facing struggles in a couple of his earlier ventures. The film is racy from the word go and tries something new in the so-called commercial movies genre.

Produced by Media One Global Entertainment Limited along with Gemini Industries and Imaging (Pvt) Ltd, Modhi Vilayadu is about the war between a rich man and his son.

High profile entrepreneur Rajan Vasudev’s (Kalabhavan Mani) only heir is Udhay Vasudev (Vinay). Udhay lives a high flying life of great wealth and splendor and he stays with his friend Madhan (Yuva). Rajan’s business rivals, who want to kill Udhay, bumps off Madhan by mistake.

This makes Rajan to dump Udhay. When Udhay is stripped off many of the luxuries that he used to enjoy, he is confused and wants to know what is happening. This leads to the cat and mouse game between Rajan and Udhay where he wants the world to know the truth. In the meantime, our ‘hero’ also has a love affair with an aspiring singer L R Eswari (Kajal Agarwal).

The film is chic and trendy. Colonial Cousin’s music, Karuna’s cinematography and S Ramakrishnan’s dialogues add strength to it. If you are ready to forget a few potholes, Modhi Vilayadu is an enjoyable ride.
