The DMK government in Tamil Nadu was “compelling” the AIADMK to approach court, seeking to quash the demolition order served on its party headquarters here, to help multi-storied commercial complexes having unauthorised constructions, AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa said today.

The Supreme Court’s verdict on demolition of unauthorised constructions applied only to multi-storied commercial complexes and the AIADMK party headquarters would not come under the purview of the verdict, she said in a statement. If the AIADMK got a stay on the notice, the government would use the stay order to save multi-storied commercial complexes, she alleged.

She refuted Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s charge that unauthorised construction was going on at an estate at Kodanadu in Nilgiris district, where she had stayed recently.

She said there was no unauthorised construction there. “All truth regarding the construction there would be informed to the court,” she added. Source: ChennaiOnline
