Mrs. Kamalammal the 68-year-old wife of thespian Sivaji Ganesan, passed away at a private hospital in Chennai on Nov 2nd morning after a prolonged illness.
She is survived by two sons actor Prabhu and actor-producer Ramkumar and two daughters, Shanti and Thenmozhi. Mrs. Kamala Ganesan was admitted to the hospital on October 31 and died due to blockage of the pulmonary artery.
Both of her daughters, who are currently abroad, have been informed about her death. After their arrival, the funeral would take place either tomorrow evening or Sunday morning at Besant Nagar crematorium, family sources said,
Kamala Ganesan and Sivaji Ganesan were married on May 1, 1952, their wedding graced by both M.G. Ramachandran and M. Karunanidhi.
Sivaji Ganesan, a star of the Tamil cinema, died in 2001.
