Vice-Admiral R.P. Suthan inaugurated the web site of the Chennai Centre for China Studies here on Monday.
B. Raman, Former Additional Secretary, Government of India, and member of the centre, said the web site was the first step towards making the centre known to the rest of the world. Some prominent educational institutions in other countries had taken note of the site (www.c3sindia.org) . An Asian monitor in Australia, which grades web sites, had given it four-star status.
V. Suryanarayanan, former Director, Centre for South and South-Eastern Asian Studies, said the web site would prove useful to those who wanted to know the real position of China.
Madras University Registrar M. Ranganatham said India should learn a lot from China’s economic growth. The web site would give a clear picture of China and its growth.
