Director R.V. Udayakumar Resigns from AIADMK Party
Veteran Tamil film director R.V. Udayakumar (known for classic hits like Chinna Gounder and Yajaman) has officially announced his departure from the AIADMK (ADMK) party. Expressing deep sadness and concern over the current political state and direction of the AIADMK, the veteran director decided to sever his long-standing ties with the party.
I have been a member of the party for over the past 25 years, and currently serve as the State Secretary of the Art and Cultural Wing (Kalaipirivu).
I am deeply pained and worried about the current state of the party. As I do not wish to continue in the party under my current state of mind, I am resigning from my position as the Secretary of the Art and Cultural Wing, as well as from the primary membership of the party.
With a heavy heart, I express my deepest gratitude to you, the former ministers, state and district administrators, and the city, town panchayat, ward, and regional party executives who have supported me in my work until now, and I take my leave.
