Following a brief talk by Ram Gopal Varma and Suriya about their experiences working together for the first time, the first look of the film was revealed. Also revealed for the first time was a title song capturing the spirit of the story.
Addressing the members of the press, director Ram Gopal Varma said “When I decided to make this film, the only person who I thought could do justice to the character of Surya was Suriya. What I saw of him in Kaakha Kaakha and Ghajini, inspired me. I found him even better in Rattha Charitram as this particular role called for a much greater complexity in terms of performance.”
Commenting on the film and his experience, Suriya said “ Rattha Charitram experience has been exhausting. When RGV narrated the story to me, I decided instantly I was going to be a part of it. Getting into the skin of the character was both grueling and exciting at the same time. This is one of my toughest performances.”
It is learnt that the film has been shot in three languages – Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Varma said “I felt a story such as this deserves a larger viewing audience and so we decided to shoot it in all the principal three languages.” Also famous lyricist Kabilan has written songs for the movie.
