Other than K.V.Anand’s “KO” , the only other crew to use the ultra speed “PHANTOM-FLEX” is the new James Bond movie team. ‘ Phantom-Flex’ captures 2800 frames/second and this is 6 times faster than the normally available high speed cameras in the industry now.
What we are using is only a “prototype” and the distributors of the camera did not suggest us as they said the camera is still in the demo period. Director K.V.Anand who is known for his risk taking initiatives, was strong to use only this camera cause he was very clear that only this camera will capture the essence of the shot.
Just in case of emergency and as back up we had a ‘Phantom-Gold’ ( the older version of the Phantom-Flex ) ready with us. But our ultra speed camera worked just fine.
Another advantage of this ‘Phantom-Flex’ is that , its a digital camera and we can view the shot immediately after capturing. Which is not possible with the other camera’s cause they are film camera and we need to process the films to watch the scene.
