Last Friday, Supreme court has sought a response from Latha Rajinikanth, who is the wife of Superstar Rajinikanth, as she was connected with the case of cheating the post-production unit, who were involved for releasing the Tamil flick “Kochadaiiyaan”.

A bench led by Justice Ranjan Gogoi was hearing a petition filed by a private firm challenging a Karnataka High Court order of March 2016 quashing an FIR lodged against her by the Bengaluru Police.

Bengaluru police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against Latha Rajinikanth following the directions from the jurisdictional ACMM court.

The firm had alleged that after they provided finance for the completion of the film, Latha Rajinikanth, who stood as a guarantor, sold the distribution rights of the film to another firm for the Tamil Nadu area although the private firm was promised a distribution agreement in return for its funding.

Meanwhile, Rajni’s Kabali is gearing up for worldwide release on July 22.
