Actor Raghuvaran passes away

Actor Raghuvaran passed away in chennai this morning due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted in the intensive medical care unit of Mehta hospital for the past few weeks. He was 59 years old and has acted in several Tamil, Malyalam, Telgu and Hindi movies.

He became famous with his role as the protagonist of a Tamil soap opera, “Oru Manidhanin Kadhai” (One Man’s Story), about a well-to-do man who becomes an alcoholic and faces the consequent difficulties. Unfortunately, in real life too, he is known for his controversial drug addiction. His family split on this regard, and he has also undergone deaddiction courses. His wife Rohini split from him due to this. The couple have a son who is 8 years old.

Raghuvaran was born on December 11th 1948. He debuted in the award winning film, Ezhavathu Manithan (1982) and is the most loved villan of Tamil Cinema. Silla Nerangalil which released on Feb 29th 2008 became his last released movie. He had bagged many awards, including the Tamil Nadu government’s ‘Kalaimamani’ award and best character artiste award.

His funeral will be held this evening, family sources said.
