Tanishq launches a special edition of gold coins to commemorate Carnatic music singer, M.S. Subbulakshmi

April 16 2012, Chennai –Paying tribute to the legendary Carnatic singer M.S. Subbulakshmi, Tanishq, India’s largest and most preferred jewellery brand, unveiled a limited edition of engraved gold coins for its consumers. Launched by acclaimed Carnatic classical vocalists Dr. M Balamuralikrishna and Sudha Ragunathan in the presence of Carnatic music singer Ashok Ramani, to further her causes, we are contributing her favored charities – the Cancer Institute and the TAG-VHS Diabetes Research Centre, both based out of Chennai.

The gold coins, weighing 2gms, 4gms and 8gms and engraved with an image of M.S.Subbulakshmi, will be available across all Tanishq stores in Tamil Nadu and in select showrooms in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.Along with the purchase of a gold coin, customers also get a book of memoirs that captures significant landmarks of the legend’s life and gives readers an insight into her musical journey.
