SS Chandran passes away
Former AIADMK MP and comedian S.S. Chandran died on Friday. He was 69.
SS Chandran has acted in over 700 films, having started performing at the age of 15. Among his more popular films are: Sahadevan Mahadevan, Thangamani Rangamani, Paati Sollai Thattathey, and Kathanayagan. Mr. Chandran has also produced four films.
He served as a Rajya Sabha MP from 2001- 2007 and at the time of his death, he was the deputy secretary (propaganda) for the AIADMK.
Chandran is survived by wife, daughter and two sons, one of whom, Rohit, is also an actor.
