From reel life to real life, Superstar Rajinikanth and his friend Raja Bahadur share a true story of friendship, sacrifice and commitment. The two worked together in the 1970s in the same bus, where the superstar was the conductor and Raja the driver.
Rajinikanth’s style caught a film director’s eye who urged him to complete an acting course. But those were tough times. It was Raja who helped him financially and sent him to Chennai. And as they say, the rest is history.
But the change in status has not changed the hearts of friends. Not forgetting that it was his friend’s help that made him the superstar, Rajinikanth still visits Raja Bahadur’s house and spends time with him. Raja is full of praise for his friend’s simplicity.
The two spent 10 days together before Sivaji’s release and visited many famous temples in Karnataka, of course in disguise.
Raja says that the actor was very apprehensive about Sivaji, but he assured Rajni that it would be a great success. Though Rajinikanth has offered to help his friend monetarily, Raja has consistently refused, as he values his friendship more than anything.
