Producer of the biggest blockbusters in movie history ‘Titanic’ & ‘Avatar’ in India with Oscar!
Producer Jon Landau in India for a whirlwind 2 city tour in March 2012
The most spectacular cinematic event of 2012, the release of James Cameron and Fox Star Studios magnum opus Titanic 3D has set sail in magnificent style as Producer Jon Landau has flown down for a grand India tour and is in Mumbai today for a special visit! The man behind two of the biggest grossers in movie history (Titanic and Avatar), Jon Landau will visit Mumbai and Delhi three weeks ahead of the much awaited release of Titanic 3D. What’s more, the celebrated producer has brought an extraordinary memento all the way from Hollywood: the prestigious Oscar statuette he won for Titanic in 1997!
Speaking on the exciting visit is Mr Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios India, “We are extremely happy to host Mr. Landau in India. There is huge excitement for Titanic 3D in India, with an unprecedented 25 Lac fans from India on the Titanic 3D global Facebook page, which is in fact the No.1 fan base across the World.”
Speaking on the phenomenon of Titanic 3D, Mr. Jon Landau quotes, “The themes of TITANIC are as relevant today as they were 15 years ago. I think those who have seen the film will find them transported in a new way; but there
will also be many discovering the film for the first time, who weren’t even born when it was released in 1997. Audiences young and old are each going to take something away from it.”
Opening across theatres on 5th April 2012 in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu, the film’s 3D release is a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and pays a special tribute to the tragedy that took place in 1912. The most celebrated film in history will be presented to audiences in 3D format by James Cameron who has once again broken all boundaries and created a visual extravaganza that will have audiences running to the cinema halls! “Titanic” first released in 1997 and is one of the greatest love stories of all time, winning 11 Oscars that year.
The artistic process of re-visualizing TITANIC in three dimensions was overseen entirely by Cameron himself, along with his long-time producing partner Jon Landau – who both pushed the conversion company Stereo D literally to unprecedented visual breadth. Says Cameron, “The 3D enriches all of TITANIC’s most thrilling moments — and its most emotional moments. We get to bring Titanic back to the big screen after having been gone for 15 years. I’ve always thought of watching this film in theaters as a social phenomenon, where parents will take their children or teenagers would go with their mom. I’m a strong believer in the theatrical experience in general, but specifically
for this film.”
