Tamil Singer Bamba Bakya Passes Away Aged 49
Well-known Tamil playback singer Bamba Bakya, who has collaborated with notable composers including AR Rahman and crooned many hit Tamil songs, passed away on Thursday night. He was 49.
Singer Bamba Bakya recently sang opening lines of ‘Ponni Nadhi’ from Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie ‘Pooniyin Selvan Part 1’.
Bamba Bakya had also sung many popular tracks in hugely successful films like ‘Pullinangal’ from Rajinikanth’s 2.0, ‘Simtangaran’ from Vijay-starrer ‘Sarkar’ and GV Prakash’s Sarvam Thaala Mayam.
While Bhakkiyaraj is his original name, the singer was referred to as Bamba Bakya as he was able to render a song just like sufi singer Bamba.
