Swathi Kolai Vazhaku Movie – Swathi’s father wants movie banned
The murder of a young Infosys techie Swathi in the morning hours at the busy Nungambakkam railway station in Chennai last year on June 24, 2016, shook the whole of Tamil Nadu and the country. Later, investigation pointed the finger at Ram Kumar of Meenakshipuram, who was arrested. He also committed suicide at the jail after a few months.
On the same gruesome incident, a Tamil director Ramesh Selvan has made a film which features actor Ajmal Ameer in the lead role is slated to hit the screens soon. Ayra and Mano from Koothu-p-pattarai were chosen to play Swathi and Ramkumar, respectively. RB Ravi has written the story and penned the dialogues.
Now, a Tamil film Swathi Kolai Valaku based on the real-life incident is all set to hit the screens.
Director Ramesh Selvan said that, “I will take the film and screen it to both Swathi’s and Ramkumar’s families separately and get their approval before I proceed with the release,” Mr Ramesh added.
The victims Swathi’s father today lodged a complaint with the DGP to ban the movie.
