Perlos Corporation, one of the world’s leading suppliers of handset mechanics, inaugurated its manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, in Chennai, on October 4, 2007. Spread over 26,000 sq metres of land in the Nokia Telecom SEZ, the first phase of the facility has been established at an investment of $ 30 million.
This exclusive facility will cater to the growing demand of mobile device handset manufacturers as well as to the electronics manufacturing service companies in India. The facility was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Finland, Asko Numminen, and Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Perlos will initially cater to the needs of Nokia India and later to other customers in India and to the global market. Construction commenced in November 2006 and the first shipment was made in mid-August 2007. The built-up area of the plant is about 20,000 sq metres.
