Actor Karthiis confident that his new film Naan Mahaan Alla will be another feather in his cap. “After three hits I wanted to be careful about my next, till I listened to Suseendhiran’s script, which had an inspiring protagonist. That’s how Naan Mahaan Alla happened,” explained Karthi during the media gathering for the film.
Talking about his character, he said, “I play Jeeva, an unassuming, middle-class city boy who sees life from a positive perspective. It’s a lively character. The core of the story is about how a certain incident drags him into committing a crime. There are hardly any dialogues in the second half, where music and emotions dominate. It’s a bit like Suseendhran’s earlier hit, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu.”
Karthi unabashedly admits that the parts of the film he enjoyed most were the love scenes between him and heroine Kaajal Agarwal.
When it was Suseenthiran’s turn, he commented: “The movie belongs to Karthi. In contrast to his suave, stylish look in Paiyaa, here he plays a local Chennai boy. Karthi adapted himself beautifully to the new character in every possible way, whether it was body language, looks or diction.” The combo of Yuvan and Karthi has always worked wonders at the box office and this project is no exception. Yuvan’s music is a big plus, claimed the director.
