Car maker Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) yesterday said it has shipped 4,00,000 units of its small car Atos prime from its Chennai facility to overseas market.
Hyundai, which sells Atos in India as Santro, has achieved the four lakh unit export mark for Atos within eight years of operations in India, HMIL said in a statement.
The company exported 13,200 units in July, up 57 per cent year-on-year.
HMIL is foraying into new export markets to increase its global presence in the small car market. Currently, the company exports Atos, Getz and Accent models from India to 67 countries in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
“With India becoming the manufacturing hub for Hyundai small cars, we expect to achieve even greater milestones as the country’s largest exporter in the automobile industry,” HMIL Managing Director H S Lheem said in the statement. Source: Hindu
