IT major HCL Technologies Ltd announced the opening of an offshore development centre at Chennai, in association with Konica Minolta Group (KM).

HCL Technologies has opened an offshore development centre in Chennai for the Japan-based Konica Minolta Group (KM), providers of digital imaging. The centre will provide software services for KM’s multi-function peripherals, printers and medical equipment business lines.

Through this centre, HCL will provide software services to KM’s multi function peripherals (MFPs), printers and medical equipment business lines.

The software services provided by HCL will support the Japanese language in order to communicate accurately with KM’s researchers, according to a release issued here on Wednesday.

Three-year-contract

The contract is for three years and will be extended thereafter every year in which the five business companies of KM will outsource product engineering work to HCL.

HCL expects around $30 million worth of business in three years through this deal.
