Popular playback singer Ms.Chinmayi has bagged the Nandi awards, a prestigious honor from the Andhra Pradesh government. Chinmayi has been adjudged as the best dubbing artiste for Ye Maaya Chesaave. The movie is a remake of Tamil-hit Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Chinmayi has sung hit songs in Tamil, including the blockbuster Rajnikanth starrer Endhiran. The Chennai-based singer will receive the Best Dubbing Artist-Female Award from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at a function in Hyderabad next month.
The Nandi Awards are the most prominent awards in Telugu films, Telugu theater and television. A state panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry.
