CavinKare launches Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards Awards launched in memory of late Shri RChinnikrishnan
Chennai, September 9, 2010: FMCG giant CavinKare has announced the launch of Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards, in memory of late Shri R Chinni Krishnan, father of sachet revolution to honour small and tiny entrepreneurs.
Dreamer, innovator, ideator, entrepreneur- just some of the words that can describe Shri R Chinnikrishnan, the man who triggered the Sachet revolution. Considered to be one of the greatest independent thinkers of his time, this great man’s ideas were based on the simple philosophy that, “What the rich man can enjoy, the poor man should be able to afford”. Towards realising this vision, he quit his job as a mathematics teacher and pioneered product packaging with a self made machine.
In commemoration of this visionary, CavinKare has launched Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards, which will felicitate small and tiny entrepreneurial ventures in Tamilnadu in the product and services category.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. C K Ranganathan, CMD, CavinKare said, “This is one of the most profound moments for me. In honour of my father, Chik, one of the biggest brands from CavinKare portfolio was named after him. In addition to that, Chinnikrishnan Innovation Award is being launched today as a tribute to him.
This award has been created keeping in mind the entrepreneurs of small and tiny industries. To encourage the entrepreneurs, apart from constituting this award, we have also decided to introduce venture capitalists and bankers. We look forward to this award becoming a national phenomenon in the coming years.”
The awardees selected by a panel of experts will be given patent legalities with the option of potential tie ups with banks and venture capitalists. They will also have access to marketing advisory services.
