“Madras Matinee” Triumphs at the Box Office, Cast Thanks Fans and Media

“Madras Matinee,” the film produced and directed by Karthikeyan Mani under the banner of Madras Motion Pictures, premiered on June 6th to widespread acclaim. The movie, featuring a talented ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Kali Venkat, Shelly, Roshini Haripriyan, Vishwa George Marian, Archana Sandhook, Sunil Sugada Sams, Geetha Kailasam, and many others, has been embraced by audiences and lauded by the media as a remarkable creation. This overwhelming positive reception has propelled the film to immense success, as it continues to run successfully in hundreds of theaters, drawing strong support from fans.

To celebrate this achievement, the film’s crew recently organized a thanksgiving event in Chennai to express their gratitude to the media and the audience for making the film a resounding success. Members of the cast and crew were in attendance.

Speaking at the event, actor Kali Venkat extended his heartfelt thanks for the support the film has received so far and for the continued support it is expected to garner.

“I thank the director for giving me this opportunity,” he said. “The director was introduced to me through the film’s creative producer, Abhishek Raja, who narrated the story. When he described my character, it reminded me of my own father. I felt there wouldn’t be a better opportunity to dedicate something to him, so I agreed to be a part of this film.”

Venkat shared a touching anecdote: “After the film’s release, when I visited theaters to gauge audience reception, some fans hugged me and wept. My shirt was drenched with their tears. This was a new and unforgettable experience for me. While acting, I never anticipated the immense impact this character would have on the audience.”

He further added, “Only in art can one truly appreciate even tears. This is a tremendous blessing for actors in cinema. The film I had watched the most before this was ‘Gargi.’ Now, ‘Madras Matinee’ surpasses it, largely because of its exceptional sound design.”

Kali Venkat also expressed his gratitude to Vadivelu for singing a song in the film, and to all the actors, actresses, and technical crew members who contributed to “Madras Matinee.”
