Introduction:
Emotions play a very important part in a human’s life, especially when they are driven by grief, happiness, guilt, shame, anger or frustration they help you bring out the best or the worst side of you.
Chennaieil Oru Naal is the remake of the super hit Malayalam Film – TRAFFIC, based on a real incident which had happened near Chennai.
It’s a film that shows different aspects of a human’s life and also carries a social message of organ donation. The movie involves the lives of 4 characters.
Gowtham Krishna (Mr. Prakash Raj) – a Leading Actor whose daughter needs a heart transplantation.
Sathya Moorthy ( Mr. Cheran) – a suspended Traffic constable looking for an opportunity to prove himself again.
Robin ( Mr. Prasanna) – a doctor who is celebrating his first wedding anniversary.
Karthik ( Sachin – New Face) an aspiring journalist who is gearing up for his first celebrity interview.
All these stories get connected to one mission and Suriya Prakash (Mr. Sarathkumar) City Police Commissioner, the one who makes the mission success.
Synopsis:
Leading Actor Gowtham Krishna is getting ready for the release of his new film. On the same day, Traffic Constable Sathya Moorthy joins back on duty, after being suspended from service. The day is special for Dr. Robin who is celebrating his first wedding anniversary. Karthik is starting his first job as a journalist with an interview with Gowtham Krishna the very same day.
At a crowded Traffic junction in Chennai, Karthik and his colleague Ajmal (Mithun) traveling in a bike are fatally hit by a speeding car at the signal. Also at the junction, in another car, is the surgeon Dr. Robin.
Karthik goes into comma and is declared brain dead and he is kept alive using ventilator. Meanwhile, Gowtham Krishna’s ailing daughter’s condition becomes worse and she needs an
immediate heart transplant. The doctors come with a plea to donate Karthik’s heart to a patient who happens to be star Gowtham Krishna’s daughter. With great regret Karthik’s parents agree to take their son off the ventilator and donate their son’s heart.
Now the heart becomes available, but transporting it from Chennai to Vellore on road within the limited time becomes the problem.
This is where City Police Commissioner Suriya Prakash (Mr. Sarathkumar) steps in to carry out the mission. Sathya Moorthy who has driven as an escort for ministers, volunteers to be the driver. Accompanying them on this mission is Dr Robin and Ajmal.
Did Commissioner Suriya Prakash succeed in his mission? Does the heart reach on time? Did sacrificing Karthik save a life?
The story unfolds with interesting and gripping moments when at a point the police team loses contact with the vehicle and it mysteriously disappears and does not compromise on emotion when Karthik’s parents decide on the donation and transplant with a different level of atmosphere when it comes to the troubled Doctor Robin.
