With the purpose of awarding licenses for international as well as long distance services, India’s Department of Telecommunications has forwarded a letter of intent toVerizon Business ( News – Alert) India. The receipt of license will give a boost to Verizon Business’ capacity to offer highly sophisticated telecommunications services to multinational companies operating both within and outside of India.
Verizon Business is presently in possession of an Internet service provider license in India and has a number of local IP centers. The company offers services to its multinational customers engaged in operations in India by means of collaboration with various licensed carriers in India. Once the new licenses are issued, customers within India will significantly gain from direct access to Verizon Business’ sophisticated IP communications range with the help of Verizon Business India and generally benefit Verizon Business’ existing partnerships in India.
Verizon Business India intends to make available a complete array of services to multinational customers, with the inclusion of international private-leasedMPLS circuits, IP services. IP and data network facilities are scheduled for launch in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad in 2008.
