Chennai-based technology solutions provider, Teledata Informatics has plans to set up an integrated circuit known as chip-manufacturing facility in southern India, reports Hindustan Times.
At present, the Rs 12,520 million company has four computer manufacturing facilities in US, Dubai, Singapore and Delhi with a total capacity of two million notebooks and personal computers.

 - to set up a chip-making facility in one of the three southern states, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu or Karnataka.
 - to firm up the location and expect the chip- making facility to go on stream before the year-end.
 To produce four million chips,the facility, estimated at an investment of Rs3,750 million. Of this, the compnay plans to use half for captive consumption in its notebooks and PCs and sell the rest. ÂÂ
Further, Teledata has also decided to relocate its PC and notebooks unit at Delhi to Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, which offers better tax advantages. The company currently produces three lakh units at Delhi every year. Production at Baddi would be ramped up to 1.2 million units at an investment of Rs 2,500 million.Shares of the company were trading lower by Rs 0.60, or 1.39% at Rs 42.70. Total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 290,431.
