HCL Technologies has said that SMITHS Aerospace, a part of the global technology business Smiths Group, on Feb. 27, 2007 has opened a development center in Chennai, India with the company.
The development center is the result of an agreement between Smiths Aerospace and the company that was signed on Dec. 20, 2006. Under the agreement, the company will provide the resources and management at the center with 60 assigned positions for engineering services.Mike Taylor, vice president, supply chain for Smiths Aerospace officially opened the development center.
The center is located at Plot No. 94, south phase, Ambattur industrial estate in Chennai.
Smiths Aerospace supply routes from the Far East and India are geared towardS building an infrastructure in these locations and as a mechanism for absorbing new business growth.
Shares of the company were trading higher by Rs 3.15, or 0.47% at Rs 667.05. Total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 85,251.
