Sharukh Khan’s ‘Om Shanthi OM’ surpassed Tom Cruise and Robert Redford starrer ‘Lions for Lambs’ at the box office.
Om Shanti Om topped the box office with an earning of roughly 17 million dollars in India, and also took in 1.5 million dollars at 114 the United States. Cruise and Redford’s film Lions for Lambs pulled in a 10.3 million dollars in India. Cruise’s pic also didn’t win over audiences in other major markets, generating just 2.2 million dollars in Spain, followed by 1.4 million dollars in the U.K, 1 million dollars in Germany and 878,000 dollars in Australia.
The first weekend numbers show that, the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade and Arjun Rampal starrer has grossed an unbelievable $1,764,131 in 3-days from the US. In doing so, OM SHANTI OM has smashed the previous weekend record, for a Hindi movie in the US. What is coincidental is that the record of $1,351,786 was previously held by another Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
This just clearly shows that Sharukh Khan is the Badshah of Bollywood who can achieve Mission Impossible if he sets his mind to it.
