Navadisha Montessori Institute under the auspices of the Association of Montessori Internationale (AMI), in collaboration with SchoolScape Centre for Educators and Abacus Montessori School, is planning for the first time in India an AMI Montessori Elementary Diploma Course (6 – 12 age level).
A journey began, one hundred years ago – in the slums of Rome, in a small quarter of San Lorenzo. Around 50 children between the ages 2-6 from the neighboring slums were put in a room and given some simple materials that were at that time used in experimental psychology. On January 7, 1907, Dr Maria Montessori started the first ‘Casa dei Bambini’ (Italian for House of Children) with these 50 children who revealed their human potential.
