Magic Media Works Presents Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal
Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal is a sweet and breezy romantic film in Tamil, slated for release in July, 2012.
The film is directed by Venky who has also done the story and screenplay. This is Venky’s debut feature film backed by his rich and valuable experience gleaned from 30 years in media, as an adfilm and documentary film maker and in television as Head of Vijay TV. Venky, who has profound respect for the Tamil Cinema tradition says that this movie has the story element of Bhimsingh , characterization of Balachander and the narrative style of Maniratnam. He also says that there is an interesting and heartwarming twist in the story which has not been attempted before.
Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal takes pride in introducing 23 new faces to the Tamil screen, including the lead pair and also a few technicians. The male lead is played by Hriday who had a lucky start to his career when he debuted as a child artiste in veteran director Mani Ratnam’s “Bombay” where he along with his twin brother played the sons of Arvind Swamy and Manisha Koirala. The female lead is Aditi Chengappa, an actor and model from Delhi. The other introductions play various supporting roles in the film.
This is a debut movie for the music director Phani Kalyan as well. Kalyan has scored absolutely scintillating music, experimenting with various genres with great elan and competence. He has created 3 main songs, one title song, an English song and a remix song. It seems like a truly interesting fare. Kalyan is a proud product of A.R.Rahman’s K.M.Conservatory music school.
The cinematographer is D.S Vaasan who has displayed his immense talent in the stunning visual treat that the film offers.
Prem of Maanaada Mayilaada fame, has debuted as a choreographer in this movie. He has choreographed some mind blowing dance numbers including one where popular dancer Sandy, again of Maanaada Mayilaada fame has virtually scorched the dance floor with a racy number where he appears as an illusion of Michael Jackson. Venky claims that the song can be considered a tribute MJ, who was passionate about changing the world and healing the pain of the people.
The lyrics have been penned by veteran poet Arivumathi, Palani Bharathi and Chitraa Venkey who also debuts as a lyric writer and dialogue writer in this film.
Venky says that the film based on the concepts of destiny, fate and time and their importance in the lives of people. Einstein’s notion of how everything in life is predetermined adds an interesting element to the story.
The most interesting part of the film are the cameo appearances of thespians Nasser and Revathy. Venky says that they have been cast in roles they have not played hitherto and it is they who bring about a twist in the story.
Ashokk, a charming young hero in Tamil films, has also made a special appearance in this film.
Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal comes wrapped like a chocolate, with a sweet story, lovely performances, beautiful music and a heart warming message that is subtle and not blatant. The crew firmly believe that K4, produced by Ganeshwar Tripathand Magic Media Works will be liked by the youngsters and their parents alike.
