“Udambu Eppadi Irukku” Samvritha and Dr. Rajasekhar

After the successful films ‘Idhudhaanda Police’ and ‘Evanaa Irundhaa Enakkenna,’ Dr. Rajasekhar is producing and acting in ‘Udambu Eppadi Irukku.’ The original Telugu version ‘Evadede Naagendhi’ was a huge hit and this is being remade in Tamil with suitable changes.

Rajasekhar is the hero and Samvritha is the heroine. Others starring in the film are Mumaid Khan in an important role, Kalabhavan Mani, Raghuvaran, Kotta Srinivasa Rao, Devaraj and others.

The hero Surya is well educated. After working in the Indian army, he returns home. He believes that all sons of the Indian soil should do good for their country. He believes, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” With the aim of instilling these virtues in the young generation, he gets into politics.

Instead of concentrating on his country, he is forced to turn his attention towards state matters because of circumstances. He starts protesting from the home itself. He opposes the dictatorial political arrogance and misuse of power of Kalabhavan Mani. Mumaid Khan is a straightforward police officer and she supports Rajasekhar. He stands for elections and becomes the Interior Affairs minister. He shows people how an Interior Affairs minister should function.

How villains can be made to transform into decent people without resorting to punishments, is told in an absorbing manner by director Mrs. Jeevitha Rajasekhar. This is her first directorial venture of a Tamil film.

She had directed Rajasekhar in the successful ‘Seshu,’ a Telugu remake of Vikram’s hit film ‘Sethu.’
