A three-day international medical equipment exhibition will be organised in the Chennai from tomorrow.

S Manivannan, CEO of Medicall, organisers of the exhibition, told mediapersons here that it would be a supermarket for medical equipment with around 200 companies participating in it, including some from China.

“Last year, about 110 companies participated in the exhibition and this has increased to 180 this year,” he said, adding that the transaction during the exhibition last year was Rs 3 crore.

Philips, L&T and Wipro would be among the top companies taking part in the exhibition.

With the increased insurance facilities, there was a pressure on the health industry to upgrade their knowledge and to upgrade their equipment, he said.

Small hospitals would also be forced to upgrade their equipment since a chain of hospitals with modern facilities would be coming up in the country soon,” he added. Source: chennaionline
