Escope international – ‘ETHIRMARAI’ Tamil movie: An Introduction
Escope international is a new cinema venture started by G Arun, a chemical engineer turned entrepreneur. Known for his innovations in the previous business, he wanted Escope to stand out from other production companies in terms of technology. To start with, in the first production of escope. Which is the Tamil feature “ETHIRMARAI” everything from shot to projection will be 100% digital. Escope insists that its feature should be called only as a movie and not a film because it does not use film at any stage.
Earlier features which were shot in digital were using low end cameras which could not output a resolution equivalent to films also these cameras did not have the sensors capable of capturing the depth of fields of 35mm cine lenses. Images have cinema quality competing with film if not better. Escope is proud to be the first company in India to use both Red one and Phantom camera in ETHIRMARAI operated exclusively by Indian technicians. The DOP of ETHIRMARAI, EINESSHKUMAAR, is the first Indian cameraman to use these cameras for cinema. When other renowned companies were shying away from technology afraid of handling these new camera in Indian climatic condition, Escope has its own foolproof in house data management system for the footages acquired from red one and phantom headed by a consultant G BALAJI titled digital cinema designer which is a new filed in cinema world.
The Title Ethirmarai means contradiction in English. The movie is a psychological thriller based on a link between a CBI officer’s private life and a serial murder case he is handling, will provide a new experience in cinema.
The story and dialogues are done by the director itself.
The first time director G Arun though not worked as an assistant anyone has completed formal short direction courses in USA and is with thorough knowledge in the field both technically and creatively. In ETHIRMARAI you can expect a screenplay with unique style. The backdrop of the story is Chennai and is shot in various locations in and around Chennai. Many scenes are taken in expensive sets specifically designed for the purpose (thanks to RAJEEVAN). You can never miss the beauty of it in the movie. The cameraman DINESSHKUMAAR has gien a visually stunning cinematography which you are sure going to enjoy. The catchy and meaningful lyrics of all the songs are penned by Kaviperarasu VAIRAMUTHU. The music is by new entrant MURUGANMOHAN. Rooted in south Indian classical music, he has branched out to rock, pop, jazz and even Hungarian folk music. He has worked with several Indian music directors. His Music is going to linger in your mind for long. The each of the four songs will vary in the sound styles and visual presentations. SONY MUSIC will be the marketing the music products. Sound engineering is handled by lakshnirarayanan, the top class in this department in Tamilnadu.
