The broadcast rights of the latest Rajnikanth starrer, Sivaji have been sold to the DMK-run Kalaignar TV.

AVM Productions the producers of Sivaji have confirmed that they have sold the television rights of the movie to Kalaignar TV and that the movie will be telecast on three years from now.

Till now, the Maran family owned Sun TV had almost a monopoly on the television rights for all major Tamil films.

Rajnikanth’s Sivaji is reportedly the most expensive Indian film and most widely anticipated Tamil film in recent years. It is scheduled to release on the July 15.

Says MS Guhan of AVM Productions, “It will be telecast three years from the date of release as per the Tamil Films Producers Cousel norms.”
