Its takes movies like VannathuPoochi to make people in this cutthroat world to realise that they must make time for their families and children and all the money in the world will never replace the love and time we share with our children.

Director Azhagappan has taken a simple story line to put across a strong message. Divya Bharathi (Sri Lakshmi) is the only child of working couple Arun (Siddharth) and Chitra (Madhavi Sharma). The parents are ever so busy in their career and do not have time to spend time with their only child who craves for their love and time.

At one point , the child is sent to her grandfather Chinnasamy’s (Bala Singh) house where she finds the affection and warmth that she has been craving for. When its time for her to return to her parents the child puts her feet down and refuses to return. She also files a case in the court that she wants to stay with her grandfather and not the parents who neglect her.

Vannathu Poochi Review

The director ends Vannathu Poochi with the message that, its a child’s birthright to choose the alternative guardian when the parents are negligent. Even if this is a futuristic concept it will not be too long before we see our future generation tredding such rebellious paths.

The affection between Sri Lakshmi and Bala Singh comes across on the screen. Sri Lakshmi as young Divya fighting for her rights is laudable and so are Siddharth and Madhavi Sharma as her parents. Revathi does justice to her role as the judge.

On the whole Vannathu Poochi is a colorful butterfly indeed.
