The Indo-Russian Cultural and Friendship Council and Russian Centre of Science and Culture felicitated eminent writer Tamil Jayakanthan for winning the Padma Bhushan on April 24th; the function coincided with his 76th birthday.
The function was presided over by Mr. V.M. Lakshminarayanan, Chairman of Indo-Russian Cultural and Friendship and Mr. F.A. Rozovsky, Counsellor and head of Cultural Department (Embassy of Russian Federation in India). Other eminent guests for the evening were Dr. Iraianbu I.A.S, Kamal Haasan and Vairamuthu.
